da gbg bet: Tottenham Hotspur target Steven Bergwijn has denied that he has refused to play for PSV Eindhoven via his Instagram account, per Metro.
What’s the word?
da prosport bet: Football FanCast sources have confirmed that the club have tabled a bid for the Netherlands international that is worth around £21m.
Eindhoven Dagblad reporter Rik Elfrink claimed on Sunday that he did not want to play for the club in their clash with FC Twente.
However, he took to Instagram to deny such claims, insisting that the club’s interim coach, Ernest Faber, gave him permission to miss the encounter, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Indeed, sources have confirmed to FFC that the 22-year-old is currently in England, with Leicester City also interested in a potential deal.
Bergwijn said: “Good evening PSV fans, a lot was said about me, I’ve read all of it and I’m disappointed with how this went down.
“None of it is true, I never refused to play for PSV and I would never do so in the future. I’m a boy from the club, PSV is in my heart.
“The media is twisting this whole story, I called the coach this morning and said some things are going on and he gave his permission.
“He then wished me success, everything went fine and I did everything in a good manner without going behind PSV’s back. Thank you.”

Deal close
Spurs are hopeful of striking a deal for Bergwijn, though sources were at pains to make clear that the transfer is not yet complete.
Nevertheless, his honest post on social media suggests that he feels a transfer is close.
Of course, Spurs do face some competition from Leicester in their bid to bring Bergwijn into the club but his travelling to London and address to supporters is an end-game move.
The transfer window has less than a week left to run and the deadline is closing in.
Nevertheless, wherever he ends up, Bergwijn looks poised to call time on his nine-year PSV career.
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has issued a major update on an ace who could leave Spurs this month.
