Spurs won their first away game since January on Saturday, running out 3-2 winners at the London Stadium thanks to goals from Son Heung-Min, Lucas Moura and Harry Kane.
Alli played a key role in Lucas’ strike, amazingly keeping the ball on as it threatened to go out on the left flank with an impudent flick through to Son, who found the Brazilian with a pin-point cross to the back post.
The encounter, of course, was Jose Mourinho’s first game as Spurs manager following his replacement of Mauricio Pochettino in the dugout earlier this week.
The Portuguese hailed Alli after the game, insisting that he needs to get back to his best following a period of poor form; he scored just five league goals last season.
And supporters have praised the playmaker for his showing after they enjoyed a rare victory on the road.
