da bwin: Speaking to MUTV after the match, Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has hailed teammate Marcus Rashford as being “impossible” to deal with.
What did he say?
The Red Devils earned a hard-fought 2-1 draw against Tottenham on Wednesday night, in what was Jose Mourinho’s first return to the Old Trafford touch-line since being sacked by United last December.
Rashford opened the scoring with a fierce strike, before Dele Alli notched an equaliser before the break. But the Red Devils had the last laugh thanks to a penalty from their 22-year-old academy product.
And after the game, McTominay admitted that Rashford can be too hot to handle for opposition defences, and that it is a refreshing sight to see a player come through the youth system to shine for the first-team.
He said (as quoted by The Manchester Evening News): “Difficult? It’s impossible (to deal with him). Sometimes when you see some of the stuff that he’s doing there. It’s a breath of fresh air to watch a player who’s a young boy from Manchester coming up and doing some of the things that he’s doing… It’s a pleasure to watch and I just want to be a part of that as well.”
On fire
Make no mistake about it, Rashford has well and truly found his best form once more. The England international had gone through a goal-scoring drought earlier on in the season, once going on a run of just one goal in seven Premier League games. But since that strike against Liverpool, he has simply been lethal.
He has found the back of the net an impressive six times in his last seven league outings, and has also provided two assists too. And against Spurs on Wednesday night, he just proved to be Serge Aurier’s nemesis on the left-hand side. As per Sofascore, Rashford completed five dribbles, had six total shots (one of them cannoning off the woodwork), and won nine total duels too.
It was a display brimming with intensity from the first whistle, and it’s no wonder why one of his teammates believes it’s “impossible” to stop him.
Meanwhile, Manchester United fans are hailing this ace as the “new Roy Keane” following his imperious display against Tottenham.
