da brwin: Celtic fans on Twitter were fairly adamant that James Forrest did not deserve to be sent off in their Europa League loss to Red Bull Salzburg, with many claiming the coming together should never have been given as a foul.
Manager Brendan Rodgers started with three centre-backs and played Forrest at right wing-back. The Bhoys started well and went ahead after just two minutes through summer signing Odsonne Edouard, but in the second half things quickly unravelled for the away side.
Salzburg striker Munas Dabbur netted 10 minutes into the second period to level the scores, and just six minutes later his strike partner Takumi Minamino put the Austrian outfit ahead.
Forrest then got caught when he chested the ball towards his own goal and clashed with Salzburg’s full-back Andreas Ulmer, with the 27-year-old Celtic man receiving his marching orders for denying a goalscoring opportunity.
